In April 2015, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) brought an action against Jeff Risinger for alleged securities fraud as well as for making misrepresentations to investors. Jefferey Risinger, his former brokerage firm, PIN Financial, LLC, its president and two associates allegedly fraudulently raised at least $15 million from at least 80 investors who were told that their funds would be used to make short-term operating loans to farmers when instead, significant portions of the loans were used to cover unpaid debt on loans from prior offerings and to pay Jeff Risinger and the others over $800,000 in undisclosed “success” and “interest rate spread” fees.
